AK 5.56 Md. 97 by Semi-II AK 5.56 Md. 97 by Semi-II
The Automatski Karabin Model 97 is the main military weapon of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Saritistan. Developed in the mid-late 90s as a replacement for the AK 7.62 M71, the weapon reflects political as well as technological changes; the adoption of the 5.56 cartridge in a move towards commonality with new allies is an example of this.

Weight: 3.3kg/7.3lb
Calibre: 5.56x45
Effective range (area fire): 600m/656yds
Operating system: Long gas piston, rotating bolt
Feed system: 30 round box magazine
Sights: Rear aperture, front post

==========

Worked on this for a while, it's for an "alt" (read: old nation I forgot about and decided to revive) on Nationstates.

Is that perhaps a 6H5 bayonet? I have an actual 6H4 bayonet myself

Nice, i like how the handguard makes the weapon weird and good looking in a way - something i wouldn't expect on an AK but there you go... :D

Thanks, I very loosely based the handguard on the StG. 940 which is probably one of my favourite AK type rifles. :P

I think that this is a nice and realistic weapon.
I'm also thankful you mentioned nation states because you made me remember that I have a nation to run, thank you!
